Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - Tunisian Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi on Tuesday received the credentials of the head of the office of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) for North Africa based in Tunis, Haoua Acyl, the ministry announced.
The two officials discussed the preparations for the 18th Francophonie Summit on November 20 and 21 in the island of Djerba, Tunisia.
Mr. Jerandi expressed the availability of his department to grant any form of support and assistance to the new head of the OIF regional office in Tunis in order to facilitate her mission under the best possible conditions.
He urged focus on the most important points on the agenda of the next Summit, including issues related to the digital economy and youth employment in order to make the French-speaking space an area that encourages the development of intelligence and the exchange of experiences for creating economic and commercial opportunities among member countries of the OIF.
Ms. Acyl thanked the Tunisian authorities for the support they have given her, affirming her desire to strengthen relations between Tunisia and the OIF so as to give qualitative progress to cooperation of all member countries in all areas.
Before her appointment, Ms. Acyl was Minister of Air Transport and Meteorology in Chad.
