Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - The mayor of Tunis, Souad Abderrahim, was Thursday elected vice-president of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) at the annual Conference of Francophone Mayors here.
It was under the theme "Developing Cities and Digital: How to Honour the Innovation Commitments".
The conference elected the AIMF executive board and members of the municipality of Tunis as a permanent member of the association.
The digitalization of the municipal job was the most important issue raised during the conference, which was attended by more than 50 personalities from Africa and Europe.
The participants also adopted the Tunis Declaration on the digitalization of municipal services, said a statement issued by the municipality of the Tunisian capital.
The head of the Tunisian government, Hichem Mechichi, presided over the opening session of the conference, which was attended by the AIMF chairwoman and Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, and Souad Abderrahim, Mayor of Tunis.
