Trial of ex-Libyan Premier postponed till September

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Special Court trying officials of Libya's former regime on Wednesday postponed to 9 Sept. the trial of the regime's last Prime Minister, al-Baghdadi al-Mahmoudi.

The postponement, which will also affect the trials of two other defendants, former executives of an investment company al-Mabrouk Zahmoul and Amer Salah Tarfas, was at the request of the lawyers of one of the defendants.

The three defendants face several charges, including incitement, killings and misappropriation of funds.

Al-Mahmoudi and two of his companions were arrested 22 Sept. 2011 by the Tunisian authorities for illegally entering the country. They were extradited to Libya June 2012.
