Saied, Mushikiwabo discuss preparations for the Francophonie summit
Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - Preparations for the international summit of the Francophonie were the main focus of discussion in Tunis between Tunisian President, Kais Saied, and the Secretary General of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF), Louise Mushikiwabo.
The Tunisian head of state and the patron of the OIF highlighted the ways and means necessary for the success of the summit, scheduled for the end of 2020 in the Tunisian capital.
The two sides discussed the results of the last ministerial meeting and the new priorities adopted, said the Tunisian Presidency website.
At the talks, the Tunisian president reaffirmed the desire of his country to make this important meeting a success within the framework of the respect of its commitments and its opening to its Mediterranean space.
For her part, Ms. Mushikiwabo estimated that the summit which will be organized by Tunisia and which will coincide with the celebration of the OIF fiftieth anniversary, will be a summit of renewal of the organization and its restructuring.
The summit will also be an opportunity to create new multilateral relations, she said, adding that the meeting will offer an opportunity to give a new orientation to the organization which takes into account the aspirations of young people.
Tunisia received the witness for the organization of the Armenian summit during the 36th ministerial conference held in Monaco at the end of October.
