Côte d’Ivoire: France to host 2nd Francophonie economic forum in October
Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (PANA) – The second Francophonie economic forum will be held on 27 October in the French capital, Paris, according to a communiqué issued on Monday by the institution and received by PANA.
The goal of this edition of the forum is to accelerate the implementation of the economic strategy adopted in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, in November last year, to transform the ideas and proposals into actions with the involvement of the public and private sectors.
It will also address also the main lines of a dynamic economic Francophonie after the first edition held in Dakar during the 16th Francophonie Summit on 29-30 November 2014.
Political and economic decision makers from the five continents and the 80 Francophonie member States and governments are expected in Paris to discuss themes like entrepreneurship, the challenges and opportunities for regions and the economic sectors with huge potentials, public-private partnerships, education, the digital sector, environment and the role of the media.
The forum will give priority to the youth, as well as direct sharing of frank and constructive views in a bid to focus the discussions on the future and actions. All participants will be urged to contribute to debates.
It will be attended by the Secretary General of the International Francophonie Organization (OIF), Mrs Michaëlle Jean, President François Hollande of France and President Macky Sall of Senegal.
The forum is initiated by Richard Attias & Associates and the Magazine "Le Point", under the aegis of OIF and the French ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development.
During the Dakar summit, OIF adopted an economic strategy that includes two main orientation lines. The first is to promote an economy that focuses on man and his development and the second is to strengthen the Francophonie economic space to make it an area of sharing, cooperation and sustained solidarity.
